We all know that livestream shopping is the current trend in e-commerce industry as platforms such as Amazon and other Southeast Asia based platforms have been trying it and successfully so for a long time. We can also tell you that there are platforms in that part of the world which only do live stream shopping and are very profitable doing that. However, there was a major blow to live stream shopping recently when Indonesia announced a ban on live stream shopping inside social media apps which means that you need to create a new platform for live stream shopping as both can’t be combined. Clearly, that would mean live streaming shopping on X won’t be approved by Indonesia.
Talking about that, we have report that Twitter, now called X, is testing live stream shopping as revealed by its new CEO Linda Yaccarino and it is worth noting that the platform was bought by Elon Musk last year. It was posted by X CEO that “The queen of pop culture, music, business, and TV is on X. @ParisHilton welcome to the @X family, we’re excited to launch an official partnership with you and your next-gen media company 11:11. Together we’re going to create a launchpad for new initiatives in video and live video, live commerce, Spaces, and so much more. Let’s do this!!”
X’s account, dedicated to live stream shopping, also announced that “we love a good multitasking sesh. so does @parishilton. we’re excited to bring you live shopping, where you can watch a livestream, chat with others & shop at the same time. also, there’ll be plenty video content & even Spaces! come hang out with us xx“. Expect to see the live stream shopping videos on X very soon and while Paris Hilton’s streams will be a great start, we are sure that the real traction will begin when the live videos from creators begin because that is when the majority of X’s audience will begin shopping and it will also be interesting to see when and how the products are linked because we can assume that the platform will soon start selling its own products as well.
