We know that Uber has provided a lot of people with excellent facilities around the world with its huge fleet of cars which allow you to book a cab and then pick you up from a location and drop you to another location as well. Apart from that, Uber has a service called Uber Eats which allows you to order something from a restaurant and it will get delivered to you within a few minutes depending on your location and they pay good amount to their delivery personnel so that they are compensated well too. However, it looks like Uber has seen the demand for e-commerce packages as well and is looking to dabble into the sector as well.
Because, for starters, Uber has decided to start a new service which is called as return pickup where Uber will let you arrange a pickup of your return order and they will deliver it to your nearest UPS, FedEx, or USPS location in exchange for a flat fee of $5 which includes up to 5 packages at the same time. In a statement, Uber said, it will now “offer the “return a package” feature, which allows customers to send up to five packages at a time for a $5 flat fee or $3 for Uber One members. Drivers will pick up the packages and drop them off at UPS, FedEx or USPS.” and also added that ““Return a package” is available in dozens of major metro areas across the country and will exist in addition to the Uber Connect program” while talking about the US market.
Obviously, this is Uber which means you can pay the driver a tip as well for the service and we know that the tipping culture in the US is huge which means that drivers rely on tips to make much more per ride then what is given to them by the company. It is worth noting that Uber’s ride-hailing services have also been very good in other parts of the world too which also means that they can expand this “return your package” service in other parts of Europe too.
