MarketDial is a technology company founded in 2016 by former management consultants from BCG & McKinsey. As consultants, our founders assisted retailers in many challenging engagements, provided thought leadership, and developed new initiatives for these businesses. Many retailers did not have a culture of experimentation. Decisions were largely based on business experience and overall YoY performance.
High-level resources required to properly design and analyze A/B tests were rare and expensive. Retailers were largely foregoing testing as a result.
A/B testing solutions were not cost effective and required high-level analytical resources to operate, limiting the potential user base within a company, thus limiting the benefits realized through testing.
